Cambodia Introduces V-PASS: No More Passport Stamps from July 1, 2025

Table of Contents

Starting July 1, 2025, Cambodia has officially introduced V-PASS, a new digital immigration system that replaces traditional passport stamps with an electronic entry record.

Instead of receiving an ink stamp upon arrival, international travelers will now receive their V-PASS by email after completing immigration procedures. This digital confirmation serves as proof of legal entry into Cambodia and reflects the country’s continued efforts to modernize border management through digital technologies.

Cambodia Introduces V-PASS

The new system works alongside the Cambodia e-Arrival Card, which travelers must complete before entering the country. Together, these digital platforms simplify arrival procedures, reduce paperwork, and create a more efficient immigration process.

What Is V-PASS?

V-PASS is Cambodia’s new digital entry confirmation issued by immigration authorities after travelers enter the country.

Rather than stamping passports, immigration officers now record arrivals electronically through the V-PASS system. Once your entry has been processed, you will automatically receive your V-PASS by email.

The V-PASS officially replaces the physical passport stamp while maintaining the same legal record of your arrival in Cambodia.

How Is V-PASS Linked to the Cambodia e-Arrival Card?

The Cambodia e-Arrival Card remains an essential part of the entry process.

Before traveling to Cambodia, visitors are required to complete the official Cambodia e-Arrival Card, which replaces several paper-based arrival forms. The information submitted through this digital arrival platform is then used by Cambodian immigration authorities to process your entry and generate your V-PASS.

In other words:

  • Cambodia e-Arrival Card → submitted by the traveler before arrival.
  • V-PASS → issued by immigration after your entry has been approved.

Although they serve different purposes, both systems work together as part of Cambodia’s new digital immigration procedure.

Where Can Travelers Access the Cambodia e-Arrival Card and V-PASS?

Travelers can access both the Cambodia e-Arrival Card and their V-PASS through the same official government platform: the Cambodia e-Arrival website and its official mobile application.

Where Can Travelers Access the Cambodia e-Arrival Card and V-PASS

Before traveling, visitors use the platform to complete their Cambodia e-Arrival Card, which includes immigration, customs and, where applicable, health declarations. According to the official website:

  • The e-Arrival Card can be submitted up to 7 days before arrival.
  • Submission is free of charge.
  • The platform is available via the official website and the Cambodia e-Arrival mobile app for iOS, Android and Huawei AppGallery.

After arriving in Cambodia and completing immigration, the same platform also allows travelers to access their V-PASS, which serves as their official digital proof of entry. Travelers can retrieve their V-PASS through:

  • The confirmation email sent by Cambodian immigration.
  • The official Cambodia e-Arrival website.
  • The official Cambodia e-Arrival mobile application.

To protect your client’ personal information and avoid unnecessary service fees, always suggest to use the official Cambodia e-Arrival website or official mobile application when submitting your arrival information or accessing your V-PASS.

What Has Changed for Travelers?

The immigration procedure remains largely the same, but the way proof of entry is issued has changed.

Before July 1, 2025

  • Passport presented at immigration.
  • Immigration officer placed a physical entry stamp in the passport.

From July 1, 2025

  • Passport is still presented to immigration.
  • Immigration officers process the arrival digitally.
  • No physical passport stamp is issued.
  • Travelers receive their V-PASS by email instead.

Visa requirements, immigration checks and entry conditions remain unchanged.

How to Use Your V-PASS

According to the official Cambodia e-Arrival guidance, travelers should keep their V-PASS accessible throughout their stay.

Upon Arrival

After presenting your passport at immigration:

  • Your entry will be processed electronically.
  • Instead of receiving a passport stamp, you will receive your V-PASS by email.
  • Keep your V-PASS accessible during your stay.

During Your Stay

Cambodian authorities recommend that travelers:

  • Keep their V-PASS available for verification if requested.
  • Store it on a mobile device or carry a printed copy.
  • Respect the authorized duration of stay shown on the V-PASS.

When Departing Cambodia

When leaving Cambodia:

  • Present your passport at departure immigration.
  • Your departure will be recorded digitally.
  • No physical exit stamp is required.
