Plain of jars

Located near the Phonsavan town, on a plateau located 1000 meters above sea level, the Plain of Jars offers the traveler an enigmatic and unusual visit in the middle of a region populated by ethnic minorities Hmong and Thai. Composed of 3 sites of a distance of 20 to 30 km from each other, the plain of jars has about 3000 jars of different sizes, carved out of stone on a surface of about 1000 Km2. These jars would be used as funeral urns but remains an enigma until today.
